Houston, Texas-based Stone Soup has announced plans to produce WILL ANIMATE FOR FOOD, a 30-minute TV program for WTP-TV, Cable 17, a public access channel. The show will feature a series consisting of a collection of independently produced animations and animator interviews presented in a variety format.

Ron Neal, head of Stone Soup, said that the response regarding submissions has been much greater than he ever expected. The first episode will air within the next two weeks. Neal also said there are plans in the works to create other versions of the series for others cities as well as possibly releasing the episodes on DVD.

Neal, said, "The title says it all. It' s a true testament to the state of the animation industry in the U.S. today. Hopefully, this will give independent animators another opportunity to show what they can do."

An animated homeless character, voiced by Pat Fant, will serve as host of the show. The program will be produced with a budget of $163.42, plus all the efforts of many talented animators throughout Houston, Texas and the United States.

The show will exclusively feature animations from independent animators, individual or organized productions, with no financial backing other than what comes out of their own pockets. Anyone can submit any kind non-pornographic of animation. Priority will be given to submissions from Texas and the rest of the U.S. For more information, visit www.willanimateforfood.com.
