State of the VFX Industry Panel Planned for July 25

A panel on the State of the Visual Effects Industry, moderated by Jim Hillin with panelists Dave Rand, Scott Squires, Scott Ross and IATSE representative Steve Kaplan, will be held at SIGGRAPH 2013 in Ballroom AB on Thursday, July 25, from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

Panels have long been an important part of the annual SIGGRAPH conference because they provide a forum for the community to share experiences, opinions, insights, speculation, disagreement, controversy, and audience interaction with the leading experts in computer graphics and interactive techniques.

Panels are moderated discussions on important topics, with expert panelists chosen by the organizers to provide a wide range of perspectives.

The State of the Visual Effects Industry panel, to be held from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Anaheim Convention Center, Ballroom AB, explores the wide variety of business practices and issues surrounding the current state of visual effects production from several perspectives: visual effects artists, visual effects producers, and visual effects company owners and executives.
