The Star Wars Fan Film Awards, Indianapolis, Indiana and the World Wide Web.

Friday, May 3, 2002 Sunday, May 5, 2002.

Entry Deadline: Tuesday, April 5, 2002.

The Star Wars Fan Film Awards will be presented at Star Wars Celebration II, which takes place less than two weeks before the theatrical release of STAR WARS: EPISODE II ATTACK OF THE CLONES. The Awards will give producers of STAR WARS fan films the opportunity to showcase their work to millions of viewers worldwide, both at the Star Wars Fan Film Network Website (www.starwars.atomfilms.com) and at Celebration II, the official STAR WARS fan convention being held May 3 through May 5, 2002, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Original productions that qualify as finalists will compete for top honors, including an award picked by STAR WARS creator George Lucas. The three main Star Wars Fan Film Awards will be:

- George Lucas Selects. The competition's best overall entry, as selected by George Lucas.

- Young Jedi Knight Award. The best film produced by a fan between the ages of 13 and 17.

- Audience Choice Award. The competition's best overall entry, as selected by fan voting. To qualify for the competition, films must meet the guidelines for STAR WARS fan films outlined on the Fan Film Awards site at www.starwars.atomfilms.com. New finalists will be posted monthly beginning in late January. Lucas Online's official Website, www.starwars.com, will feature news updates on the Fan Film competition. STAR WARS enthusiasts will be able to enjoy and evaluate the competition entries online, and vote for their favorites in April.
