It looks like Steven Spielberg's long gestating Abraham Lincoln biopic will follow his next picture, the motion-capture TINTIN feature, reports VARIETY via German mag FOCUS. Spielberg hopes to begin production on the Civil War-set feature at the start of 2009. The DreamWorks film will be based on Doris Kearns' biography THE UNITER: THE GENIUS OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN, which was adapted by MUNICH screenwriter and ANGELS IN AMERICA playwright Tony Kushner. Liam Neeson agreed three years ago to play the 16th president and Sally Field will play Abigail Lincoln. In the fall, Spielberg will start shooting the first of the planned TINTIN trilogy, making another back-to-back filming schedule for the director.
