South Park Returns With Second Half of 8th Season

Tempers flare and ideologies are tested when the kids of SOUTH PARK must choose a new school mascot in an all-new episode premiering tonight, Oct. 27, 2004, at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central to kick off the second half of the hit shows eighth season.

PETA protests South Park Elementary using a cow as its mascot and the student body is forced to choose a new one. Cartman and Kyle come up with opposing ideas to be decided upon in an election and they encourage kids to get out and vote. Kyle tries to convince everyone that his candidate, a giant douche, is better than Cartmans nominee, a turd sandwich.

SOUTH PARK will be sponsored during the week of October 25 by Paramount Pictures to promote the marionette movie, TEAM AMERICA, another outrageous production from SOUTH PARK co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Previously this year, Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman were transformed into Japanese anime warriors; Jimmy got caught up in a doping scandal; Butters was duped into believing that Cartman was a real robot; Kyle suffered through The Passion Of The Christ (and Cartman met his hero, Mel Gibson); Butters sadly massacred more innocent victims with his tap shoe; South Park was invaded by humans from the future; and the cops brought the smackdown on a wealthy black man, Mr. Jefferson.

Launched in 1997, SOUTH PARK remains the highest-rated series on Comedy Central. The series repeats Fridays at 12:00 am Saturdays at 10:30 pm and 2:00 am plus Sundays at 11:00 pm.
