Sony has issued a cease and desist letter to vfx house Hydraulx demanding they stop using equipment Sony claims it owns, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The beef is over Hydraulx's work on the alien invasion film, SKYLINE, which it co-produced, and on Sony's similar alien invasion film, BATTLE: LOS ANGELES.

Sony claims that Hydraulx is using ideas from BATTLE for SKYLINE. Hydraulx counters that Sony is only trying to delay the release of SKYLINE, which hits theaters on Nov. 12, while BATTLE comes out in March 2011.
