Sony Pictures Digital Networks Promotes Sonic Foundry Execs

Sony Pictures Digital Networks has promoted Brad Reinke to svp of sales and marketing and Dave Chaimson to vp of marketing. Both Reinke and Chaimson were part of the Sonic Foundry team, the Madison-based desktop software and service business Sony Pictures Digital Networks acquired in July of 2003, where they spearheaded worldwide sales and marketing efforts for the company.

Brad and Dave have each been instrumental in the successful transition and growth of the Sony Media Software business since its acquisition, said Patrick Kennedy, evp of Sony Pictures Digital Networks. Their significant contributions, collective experiences and solid leadership principles have allowed us to successfully grow our software product line. They have also developed impressive working relationships with other Sony businesses which, in just one year, have greatly benefited the group and our consumers.

Reinke will drive the divisions long-term vision and mission and oversee worldwide marketing and sales for all Sony Media Software products. Reinke was svp for Sonic Foundry for four years. He also worked as the vp of sales for Universal Music and Video and as the director of sales for Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

Chaimson will direct the team charged with executing all divisional marketing plans for the complete line of Sony Media Software products and Web-based services and is also responsible for the development of strategies to maximize the divisions global marketing success and profitability. Chaimson joined Sonic Foundry/Sony Pictures Digital Media Software six years ago and was most recently the director of marketing.

Over the past year, the Sony Media Software group launched upgrades for Sound Forge 7, Screenblast MovieStudio and Screenblast ACID software in addition to several new titles from its Loops for ACID sample library collection. The companys Vegas and Vegas+DVD Production Suite, which launched in April of 2004 at NAB, was the most successful product launch to date and there are additional plans to roll out many more new products and services in 2004.

The Media Software and Services division manages the following media creation software titles: Sound Forge software, Vegas software, CD Architect software, DVD Architect software, ACID PRO software, Loops for ACID music libraries, Noise Reduction Plug-In, Sony Screenblast Movie Studio software, Sony Screenblast ACID 4.0 software and Sony Screenblast Sound Forge software.
