Sony Makes Horror Pact with Ghost House

Sony Pictures Ent. has inked a two-picture distribution deal with Ghost House Pictures, which includes THE GRUDGE 2 and the English-language debut film from the Pang brothers, according to HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Columbia Pictures execs Matt Tolmach, Doug Belgrad and Shannon Gaulding will develop the GRUDGE sequel with Ghost House.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has not as of yet signed on to reprise her role. Takashi Shimizu, the creator of the GRUDGE series, will direct the film from a script by Stephen Susco. Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert and Taka Ichise will produce with exec producers Roy Lee and Doug Davison. The film is set for a Halloween 2006 release.

The Pang brothers Oxide and Danny will helm a horror tale, which follows a family that moves to a rundown rural farm who are threatened by bizarre paranormal phenomena. The original screenplay was written by Todd Farmer and was reworked by Stuart Beattie, which will be rewritten again by Mark Wheaton.
