Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group is about to acquire the rights to the superhero satire DEFENDOR, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The film stars Woody Harrelson as a delusional man who thinks he's a superhero and goes out into his city to fight crime. Film also stars Kat Dennings and Sandra Oh.
Sony will control worldwide rights, except in Canada, where Alliance will handle distribution.
Peter Stebbings directed the film. Darius Films produced, while Cinetic Media brokered the sale.
