Solomon Named Weinstein Co. COO

Lee Solomon has been named chief operating officer of The Weinstein Company, it was announced today by company co-chairman Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Solomon will serve as a key strategic architect, overseeing all operational and financial aspects of the company, with the specific mandate of continuing to build up the company's multi-tiered success since its inception two years ago. Specifically, Solomon will advise and direct the company in its investments and priorities related to movies, television, emerging technologies and other new business ventures. He will work from The Weinstein Company's offices in New York City and will report directly to Bob and Harvey.

Before joining The Weinstein Company, Solomon served as a principal at Grosvenor Park, one of the world's leading providers of equity, debt, and tax-based financing in the motion picture industry. During his tenure, he was instrumental in arranging for the financing of twenty-eight motion pictures, including most recently DEFIANCE, RIGHTEOUS KILL and THE CODE.

Before joining Grosvenor Park, Solomon was the Exec VP of Business Affairs for Helkon Media and, earlier, was a consultant to film producer Edward R. Pressman, while concurrently holding the position of Exec VP and COO for Quadra Ent.

He holds an M.B.A. from The Stern School of Business at New York University with an emphasis in Finance and a B.A. from the University of Rochester.
