Softimage At fmx/08 Conference

Softimage will attend fmx/08 in Stuttgart, Germany.

With a focus on education and commitment to providing increased access to learning tools, instructor training and certification, Softimage will give a free academic version of SOFTIMAGE|XSI Advanced to all students who visit the Softimage information booth at fmx/08. To help all users get started or advance their skills in SOFTIMAGE|XSI software, over 150 free training videos have been recently made available on the new Softimage Community site, SOFTIMAGE|NET at http://community.softimage.com/.

Softimage Activities at fmx/08:

Sunday, May 4: Sponsor of the ITFS (International Trickfilm Festival Stuttgart). Each participant of the 48 hour, non-stop animation contest will receive a copy of SOFTIMAGE|XSI Essentials.

Monday, May 5: 5-7 p.m. at FriedricstraBe 24-- Softimage will host a Softimage FMX User Event with guest presenters including Damien Grey from Animal Logic and Holger Schonberger from Digital Alchemy. Marc Stevens, general manager of Softimage will discuss how Softimage is helping advance the industry, and attendees will see a technology preview of SOFTIMAGE|XSI and Face Robot software. Softimage will host two workshops at FMX featuring its customers showing how they use SOFTIMAGE|XSI software in a game pipeline with the CryENGINE 2 from Michael Endres of Crytek, and for Pre & Post visualization for the Oscar winning film THE GOLDEN COMPASS by Richard Perry and Pawl Fulker of Destroy All Monsters,U.K.

The 13th annual fmx conference in Stuttgart, Germany runs from May 5-8, 2008. fmx is a yearly event that unites CG professionals, experts and students from all over the world and is organized by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Postproduction.
