Society Of Animation Studies Call For Papers

The 13th Society of Animation Studies (SAS) conference will takeplace in Montreal, Canada. This year, the theme of the conference isAnimation, Economics and Politics. Abstracts for papers on this orother subjects may be submitted digitally to sas@niaf.nl by August15, 2001. Papers should be no longer than 500 words. The paperselection committee includes: Peter Rist, Concordia University,Montreal, Canada; Mark Langer, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada;and Michael Frierson, University of North Carolina, USA. Theconference is timed to coincide with the Student Animation FilmFestival (SAFO) scheduled October 18-21, 2001 in Ottawa, Canada. OnOctober 18, 2001, SAFO will present a seminar on animation studyprograms. All SAS members are invited to participate. SAS is also isseeking nominations from SAS members for the Norman McLaren-EvelynLambert Award for the "Best Scholarly Book on Animation."
