Sony's THE SOCIAL NETWORK connected with audiences at the U.S. box office for the weekend of Oct. 1-3, 2010. With vfx from Lola Visual Effects, the Mark Zuckerberg biopic befriended $23 million.

Warner Bros.' LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS: THE OWLS OF GA'HOOLE held strong at #2 with another $10.9 million. With animation from Animal Logic, the owl adventure has caught $30 million to date.

Fox's WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS earned $10.1 million in third. With vfx for Crazy Horse Effects and With A Twist Studio, the financial drama has brought in $35.9 million.

Warner Bros.' THE TOWN collected $10 million in fourth, raising its cume to $64.3 million.

Screen Gems' EASY A slipped to fifth, adding $7 million to its $42.4 million cume.

In sixth, Buena Vista's YOU AGAIN married an additional $5.55 million, bringing its cume to $16.4 million.

Paramount Vantage's CASE 39 scared up $5.35 million in seventh. Hydraulx, Rainmaker, At the Post, Lola Visual Effects and Pacific Title and Art Studio provided vfx for the supernatural thriller.

Overture's LET ME IN had a disappointing debut in eighth, biting $5.3 million. DIVE and Method Studios provided vfx for the vampire tale.

Universal's DEVIL sunk from sixth to ninth, possessing an additional $3.67 million. With vfx from Custom Film Effects, the elevator horror endeavor has collected $27.4 million thus far.

Closing out the top ten, Lionsgate's ALPHA AND OMEGA howled up $3 million. With animation from Crest Animation Prods., the animated comedy has a cume of $19 million.
