Sneak Peek Of Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis At WAC

The World Animation, August 7-12, 2001, is proud to announce a new show added to its ambitious schedule. Sony Pictures Entertainment will host a "sneak peek" of Osamu Tezuka's "Metropolis." Based on the classic manga by Osamu Tezuka, the godfather of anime and manga, "Metropolis" was brought to the screen by two of the most respected figures in Japanese animation today: Katsuhiro Otomo ("Akira") and Rintaro ("X," "Galaxy Express 999"). In fact, Rintaro began his career working for Tezuka on his popular "Astro Boy" (Tetsuwan Atom) television series. The program will show once on Saturday, August 11 at midnight. Friday August 3rd is the last day to register on line for the 6 days of film screenings, the 7 Business Conferences, the 6 career sessions and the Marketplace and Expo. You can download the complete schedule and register at www.wacfest.com. If your budget is tight you can network at the Egyptian and Hollywood Roosevelt for free! The hotel bar at the Roosevelt will be buzzing all week and the foyer in front of the Egyptian Theater will be hopping with activity. You'll have a better chance of bumping into an opportunity at WAC than at home. It all takes place at the Egyptian Theater located at 6712 Hollywood Blvd, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel at 7000 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood.
