Press release from SMC Entertainment Group:

Chatsworth, CA --

SMC Entertainment Group has named Heather Smith Noback to the post of Vice President, Interactive & Digital Media.  Additionally, SMC has formed a new division to manage online and social media strategies for the company and its brands. The announcement was made today by SMC’s Senior Vice President of Licensing, Lisa Streff, to whom Noback and the new division report.

In her new post, Noback will be responsible for the development and execution of brand strategies and for overseeing the licensing and merchandising of categories, including electronic toys, interactive gaming and all forms of digital media across all SMC brands.  She will manage traditional licensing partnerships, as well as partnerships with developers of gaming and digital distribution. Noback will also seek to build retail partnerships and promotions with online retailers and digital partners.

“Heather has demonstrated a keen understanding and exceptional ability to manage a multitude of brands and partnerships in the interactive and digital media realms, which will be a huge asset to SMC as we look to grow and expand our licensing operations,” said Streff in making the announcement. “Her strong relationships in the children’s entertainment and licensing communities, as well as her enthusiasm and creative spirit combine to make Heather an integral member of the SMC team.”

Heather joins SMC from Encore Software where she has spent the past three and a half years managing outbound licensing and business development for such top selling brands as Carmen Sandiego, Hoyle, Disney, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Scrabble, Broderbund and more.  She also implemented partnerships with such companies as HP, Intel, Amazon, Apple, Bestbuy.com, Big Fish, Officemax.com and others.

Prior to joining Encore Software, Noback served as Senior Manager of Product Development Worldwide for DIC Entertainment beginning in January 2003 and expanded her responsibilities to become Senior Manager of Domestic Licensing prior to her departure from the company in 2008 after the company was acquired by Cookie Jar Entertainment.

Noback began her career the entertainment industry in December 2000 working at Buena Vista Home Entertainment, in Marketing for Disney and Fox Family World Wide until she moved to DIC Entertainment in 2003.

Noback’s appointment coincides with the formation of a new division to oversee online and social media marketing strategies across all brands.  As a result, an updated and refreshed SMC Entertainment Group Inc. website has been unveiled, plus Facebook and Twitter pages have been launched for SMC and all of its brands, including The Jungle Book, Dance Academy and H2O: Just Add Water.  The dedicated team appointed to handle these efforts will report to Streff.
