Six Flags Over Texas Debuts 4-D SpongeBob SquarePants Ride

SpongeBob is leaving his pineapple under the sea to star in SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D, a brand new underwater motion simulator ride based on Nickelodeon's popular cartoon series, at Six Flags Over Texas. The interactive attraction puts riders in the middle of all the action and deceives their senses with state-of-the-art technology and special effects.

Guests will jump as they feel the sting of a jellyfish, and laugh out loud as they're sprayed with water in a series of underwater escapades. Special glasses will be distributed to all guests to take full advantage of the four dimensional effects.

SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D will make its debut in the park's extensively renovated, 100-seat theater. The ride was jointly produced by Paramount Parks, Attraction Media & Ent. and Blur Studios.

Founded in 1995, Blur Studio of Venice, California, has produced numerous projects spanning a wide range of media -- large-format films, commercials, concept art, feature effects, ride films and game cinematics. Recent projects include the ROCKFISH short, STARGATE SG-I Attraction, THE RISE OF NATIONS cinematic, Shania Twain's I'M GONNA GETCHA GOOD music video, photoreal effects for BULLETPROOF MONK and a SPIDER-MAN action-figure spot.
