Six Feet Star is Where the Wild Things Are

Lauren Ambrose (SIX FEET UNDER) has replaced Michelle Williams in Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak's WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Ambrose will voice the creature named KW, who along with the other Wild Things turns an Earth boy into their king. According to sources, Warner Bros. and the crew were happy with Williams, but Jonze felt her voice didn't match his vision of what the creatures should sound like.

The film is a Warner Bros./Playtone/Wild Things production in association with Legendary Pictures and Village Roadshow. Jonze and Dave Eggers adapted the script. Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Sendak, John Carls and Vincent Landay are the producers.

The film, which will combine actors, CG and live-action puppets, is set for release in fall 2008.
