Making Nov. 1, 2005, STAR WARS day around the globe, Fox Home Ent. and LucasArts have announced that STAR WARS: EPISODE III REVENGE OF THE SITH will be released day-and-date with videogame STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT II. The SITH DVD will be released in most major markets either on the first or around it. The double-disc movie DVD will include a feature-length documentary on the making of the film. Also included are two featurettes exploring the prophecy of Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One, doc on the movie's stunts, a 15-part collection of Lucasfilm's Web documentaries as well as an offer to access to a special Xbox-playable demo of two entire levels of the BATTLEFRONT II.
The BATTLEFRONT is the bestselling STAR WARS videogame of all time. The sequel, for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Windows and PSP, will feature never-before-seen environments taken from SITH.
"From the beginning of production, George (Lucas) wanted to be sure we chronicled everything that went into the making of EPISODE III specifically to create an incredible DVD experience," said Jim Ward, vp of marketing and distribution for Lucasfilm. "This DVD has literally been three years in the making, and it's going to be a fantastic way to complete the STAR WARS saga at home."
