Siskind New Worldwide Marketing Chief at Paramount Pictures

Steve Siskind replaces Tom Campanella as evp, worldwide marketing and advertising, of the marketing division of the Motion Picture Group, Paramount Pictures, according to Rob Friedman, coo, Paramount Pictures and vice chairman, Motion Picture Group.

Campanella, who after a career of more than 40 years at Paramount, will change his status to a senior advisor for the company.

In his new position, Siskind will be responsible for all aspects of media planning and buying for Paramount Pictures' theatrical film releases in the U.S. and Canada and manage international media campaigns through UIP, which represents the studio in foreign territories. In addition, he will oversee Paramount's Internet advertising and share responsibility for the national promotional partnerships.

Siskind was evp of media and research for Twentieth Century Fox, a position he was promoted to in 2002. At Fox, Siskind lead the media department's efforts on such films as CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, X-MEN, CAST AWAY, ICE AGE, HOME ALONE, MOULIN ROUGE SPEED and INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Siskind joined Fox in 1989 as director of national broadcast buying, creating and heading the film division's in house network, cable and syndication buying operation. He was promoted to vp of national broadcast buying in 1991 and, in 1995, he was made department head for media and co-op advertising. He was promoted to svp, media and co-op advertising in 1997.

Prior to Fox, Siskind was a senior buyer at Western International Media, where he oversaw network and cable buying for the Walt Disney Co.'s film and theme park divisions. Siskind began his career as a media buyer at Grey Advertising.

Campanella began his career in the mailroom Paramount Pictures in 1961. Since 1997, in his successful tenure as evp, worldwide advertising/marketing for the Motion Picture Group, Campanella has guided the marketing campaigns on such films as FORREST GUMP, BRAVEHEART, MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and TITANIC.

From 1990 to 1997, Campanella was evp, national advertising and promotion, for the Motion Picture Group. Prior to that he served as svp, national advertising since July 1984. He was vp, national advertising, for five years, and before that, Campanella was exec director, national advertising.
