SIGGRAPH Asia 2012 announces its first two featured speakers.

SIGGRAPH Asia 2012 announced its first two featured speakers, one from the industry and the other from academia, both of whom will share their valuable insights and expertise with attendees in Singapore this November.

Karlheinz Brandenburg Director Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT

Hailed as the father of the MP3 format, Karlheinz Brandenburg first discovered this ubiquitous audio compression format as a specialist in mathematics trying to find ways to compress music files. From being used only in university research to becoming the commercially available invention that it is today, his invention has truly come a long way.

Richard Chuang CEO Cloudpic

Co-founder of PDI/DreamWorks over 30 years ago, which received an Academy Technical Achievement Award in 1998, Richard Chuang is a pioneer in the computer graphics and digital effects industry. As a studio executive, Richard worked on developing production capacity on a global scale for DreamWorks Animation, including multi-national productions that spanned across Asia and Europe.

The 5th ACM SIGGRAPH Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Asia will take place in Singapore at the EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre from 28 November to 1 December 2012.
