The Los Angeles Professional Chapter of ACM SIGGRAH will present the world's best animation and visual effects in a special showcase version of the SIGGRAPH Conference's Computer Animation Festival on September 9. This special edit reel of feature work, art, science, broadcast and games is brought to us by Computer Animation Festival Chair, Jill Smolin.
Reactrix will provide a presentation on their state of the art STEPscape and WAVEscape systems featuring projection and gesture-based interactivity. Experience their revolutionary system in action at selected hot spots like Hollywood and Highland. www.reactrix.com.
6:30-7:30 p.m. -- Social hour outside, hors d'oeuvres and water are included with your entry-fee or membership.In addition, Barnsdall will run a cash bar, with beer, wine and soft drinks.7:30 - 9:30 p.m. -- Program presentation.
Priority admittance for members only at 6:30 p.m. Doors open to the public at 7 p.m.
The event is free to LA ACM SIGGRAPH members, and $20 for non-members. New members who sign up on-site, and pay the $40 annual membership fee (checks or cash only), do not have to pay the $20 fee.
The event will be at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in the Barnsdall Art Park, 4800 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, California, 90027, USA.
Directions: From the Hollywood 101 Freeway, take the Hollywood Blvd. exit, go east on Hollywood Blvd. The entrance to Barnsdall Art Park is between Edgemont & Vermont on Hollywood Blvd. (one block West of Vermont). Free parking on-site. Enter through a fence in what looks to be a deserted area. Come up the hill and park around the circular road. There is also parking below the park in the lot.
