Press Release from Warner Home Video

BURBANK, CA -- Foghorn Leghorn, the lovable, mischievous rooster and his pals Tweety and Sylvester are the next to headline Warner Home Video’s (WHV) Looney Tunes Super Stars releases, the newest series of DVDs celebrating classic Looney Tunes characters.  Titled Looney Tunes Super Stars: Foghorn Leghorn & Friends Barnyard Bigmouth and Looney Tunes Super Stars: Tweety & Sylvester Feline Fwenzy, each title will be comprised of 15 shorts (over two hours of content on each). Sold separately, each release will retail for $19.98 SRP.

Foghorn Leghorn, the endearing, husky rooster known for his charming signature Southern accent and a penchant for mischief is celebrated on 15 classic cartoons featured on Looney Tunes Super Stars: Foghorn Leghorn & Friends Barnyard Bigmouth. Viewers will experience the diminutive Henery Hawk’s attempts to catch and eat Foghorn, Foghorn’s gags on his canine nemesis Barnyard Dawg and his efforts to woo the widowed hen Miss Prissy.  Looney Tunes pals Elmer Fudd, Two Crows and the adorably polite Goofy Gophers also make appearances on the DVD.  Looney Tunes Super Stars: Foghorn Leghorn & Friends Barnyard Bigmouth will be newly re-mastered from original film elements.  Fourteen of the 15 featured shorts are new to DVD.  Looney Tunes Super Stars: Foghorn Leghorn & Friends Barnyard Bigmouth is intended for the adult collector and may not be suitable for children.

Looney Tunes Super Stars: Tweety & Sylvester Feline Fwenzy showcases 15 of some of the best and brightest shorts featuring the popular canary and cat.  All featured cartoons were previously released on DVD.  Included are two Academy Award® winning cartoons:  Birds Anonymous and the seminal Tweetie Pie.  Directed by legendary animator Friz Freleng, Tweetie Pie united a duo that appears in more than 40 Warner Bros. cartoon shorts and would go on to earn several other Oscar® nominations through the years.

Generations of Americans have grown up watching Sylvester’s classic, ever-thwarted attempts to catch Tweety. With two of the most famous voices in cartoons, both supplied by Mel Blanc, Sylvester’s sloppy “sufferin succotash” and Tweety’s baby-voiced “I tawt I taw a puddy tat,” Sylvester and Tweety are two of the most quickly-identified characters in cartoons.

“The first two releases of the Looney Tunes Super Stars series were enthusiastically received by consumers and we are thrilled to offer these next two installments from the series,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation and Partner Brands Marketing.  He added, “This series gives us a chance to showcase some of the most popular Looney Tunes characters in their own collections and to bring out some wonderful material that we’ve not had the opportunity to put on DVD before. These collections are must-haves for any Looney Tunes fans and animation lovers.”
