Bergamo, Italy -- Oscar-nominated cartoonist Bruno Bozzetto is back with Rapsodeus, a new animated short that asks if there is any meaning to the thousands of wars fought by mankind, as well as a new merchandise line inspired by the cartoonist’s most popular characters.

Rapsodeus, already presented at several festivals such as Annecy and Hiroshima, was created with a mixture of 3D digital graphic and 2D animation techniques, and is accompanied by a rearrangement of the second Hungarian Rhapsody by Franz Liszt, simulated with a virtual orchestra by Roberto Frattini.

The short was made by Alienatio Studio under the direction of Bozzetto. Regarded as the virtual sequel of Allegro non Troppo (1976), the film points a finger against mankind and its wars spreading destruction and misery throughout the centuries in the meaningless search for an unreachable Utopia.

A new merchandise line including t-shirts, polo shirts and USB flash drives inspired by the cartoonist’s films and characters has also just been launched. Available at https://shop.bozzetto.com/, the collection features such Bozzetto characters as Mr. Rossi, VIP my Brother Superman, and West&Soda.
