Jonathan Shambroom will now be senior VP and general manager of Sony Picture Entertainment's online video site Crackle, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER said Thursday.
Shambroom, the former head of product development and marketin, will lead Crackle, apparently taking over for founders Josh Felser and Dave Samuel.
The REPORTER said a spokesman for the company said "their roles are changing and that's still being worked out," when asked if the two would retain a managing role.
Silicon Valley gossip side VALLEYWAG reported Wednesday that Crackle had laid off eight people, a number Crackle's spokesman wouldn't confirm but said the company had "let some people go" yet was "continuing to grow and actively hire."
Crackle puts forward short-form content from Sony Pictures Television, other studios and content from users, on the lookout for moving it to TV or film.
It is distributed across Facebook, AOL, MySpace and Sony.
