SF Women's Film Fest Offers $20,000 Scholarship

San Francisco Women's Film FestivalSan Francisco, California, USAApril 3-10, 2006Deadline: December 1, 2005

The San Francisco Womens Film Festival (SFWFF) mission is to honor, showcase and facilitate the creation of films that are directed or co-directed by women. We achieve our mission by supporting, promoting, exhibiting and honoring the achievements and contributions of women in the world of cinema. We pride ourselves in creating programming that brings the highest quality films to the community through various genres including documentaries, music videos, animation, and experimental works. Our films and screenings are selected and hosted by filmmakers, professors, and other notable figures in the world of film. In addition to exhibiting the next new wave of women filmmakers, the SFWFF also makes time to pay tribute to films by women with historical significance.

In addition, Muse Media Center post-production film facility has announced that it will be offering a scholarship valued at $20,000 to provide facilities to help independent women filmmakers finish their work.

Serious filmmakers who meet San Francisco Womens Film Festival (SFWFF) entry requirements and who have already raised funding for their films will be interviewed by a panel of judges at SFWFF in April 2006. Filmmakers will be permitted up to five minutes to pitch their projects during the festival and the scholarship award will permit after-hours use of the Muse Media Centers facilities for one month, which is valued at $20,000.

For more information about how to qualify for the scholarship contact scholarship@womensfilmfestival.us, visit the SFWFF website at womensfilmfestival.us.
