Sesame Blankets Latin America

From Argentina to Mexico, and everywhere in between, Sesame Workshop content, through the PLAZA SESAMO (Spanish) and VILA SESAMO (Portuguese) brands, now covers 100% of Latin America on pay and terrestrial television.

On October 23rd, a pan-terrestrial deal was signed with Televideo Services, bringing three seasons of PLAZA SESAMO and ELMO'S WORLD to Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru, and, on September 15th, Sesame Workshop and Exim Licensing Group brought new seasons of the shows to Argentina and Uruguay.

In addition, after almost 30 years off-air, the beloved Garibaldo of VILA SESAMO returned to his nest in Brazil and Abelardo, Pancho and Lola returned to Televisa's San Angel studio to tape PLAZA SESAMO's 35th anniversary season.

Sesame Workshop is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and caregivers in Latin America and around the world by developing age-appropriate materials on multimedia platforms. The recent agreement with Exim will help to expand relationships with local licensees and retailers, and create PLAZA SESAMO product and retail programs in Argentina and Uruguay. The Workshop's licensing initiatives in Brazil are supported by Redibra, and in all other Spanish-speaking Latin American territories by Tycoon Enterprises.
