Sega Animanium Releases Lite Version of Its Animation Software

Sega Animanium, a 3D character animation software that has been used by leading animation studios and videogame developers in Japan, is now available in both a full version and a newly released lite version.

USA Index Corp., the U.S. subsidiary of Japan-based Index Corp. and licensee of Animanium, has released Animanium Express for $99. Animanium Express offers most of the features of the full version of Sega Animanium, however is limited to no more than 180 frames and does not offer the automatic clean-up function.

The product can be purchased at the Animanium website (www.animanium.com) and is also available at select software retailers.

Animanium Express enables amateur professionals to experience Sega Animanium at a fraction of the cost of the full-version of the product, said Sam Okamoto, president of USA Index Corp. We wanted to create an entry point for pro-sumers who are looking to improve their ability to create animation.

USA Index Corp. is also offering a free trial version of Animanium, which can also be downloaded at the Animanium website.

Animanium reduces the cost and time involved with creating realistic human movement by replacing the need for motion capture technology and cutting time spent on programming. The software seamlessly integrates with leading animation programs including 3ds Max/ Character Studio and Maya.

Based in Japan, Index Corpo. is a diversified company with products and services that reach into areas including mobile technology and content, broadband, fashion and lifestyle magazines, communication and entertainment technologies.
