Second Season of Basil's Swap Shop on CBBC

Basil Brush is back on CBBC. The BBC has commissioned a second season of BASIL'S SWAP SHOP from independent producer The Foundation, part of the RDF Media Group.

The season, which began Saturday, January 10, will air for a 12-week run on CBBC (BBC Two) on Saturday mornings (10-11 a.m.). The show will go out live for 11 weeks followed by a "best of" episode comprising highlights from the live shows.

The commission builds on the success of the first season of BASIL'S SWAP SHOP, which aired January 2008 and will once again see the characteristically cheeky and charming Basil Brush, whose wit and irresistible energy fits the Swap Shops fast-paced live format, presenting alongside BAFTA award-winning Barney Harwood, best known for causing mayhem on CBBC's PRANK PATROL.

The studio-based live entertainment show, catapults the classic Noel Edmonds' MULTI-COLOURED SWAP SHOP from the 1970s into the 21st Century with a mix of interactive and comedy based entertainment, jokes, sketches, music and games, all reflecting Basil's own unique character.

Children will be able to do more than just watch BASIL'S SWAP SHOP on TV. They have the opportunity to swap live or online. As with the first series, the Swap Shop is open at BBC.co.uk/cbbc, where children will be able to leave details of their swap and have the chance to be featured on the show. Basil will also be joined each week by celebrity guests including pop stars, sporting heroes and actors who will visit the Swap Shop to trade their goods with children.

Basil Brush is part of Entertainment Rights' global portfolio of characters.
