Warner Bros. has offered the gangster role of Mickey Cohen in GANGSTER SQUAD to Sean Penn, reports Deadline.com. The story follows Cohen, a L.A. mobster who led a glamorous life until his violent behavior and criminal activities became too egregious to overlook. A special team of L.A. cops was put together to bring him down.
Will Beall (author of L.A. REX) has penned the script based on Paul Lieberman's newspaper articles. Ryan Gosling is attached to play one of the cops. Ruben Fleischer (ZOMBIELAND) is on as director. Dan Lin and Kevin McCormick are the producers.
