Sci-Fi Series North Wind Acquired By Davis Ent.

Davis Ent. acquired the rights to NORTH WIND, a sci-fi comic series from Boom Studios, per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

Writer David DiGilio will adapt the five comics for a live-action feature and will also executive produce.

John Davis will produce with Boom co-founders Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie. In the story, a cruel dictator reigns over the survivors in a futuristic Los Angeles, years after global warming has created a new ice age. Some of the citizens exiled by the dictator start a revolution.

Other Boom creations picked up by Hollywood studios recently include TAG and TALENT at Universal with Marc Platt, THE FOUNDATION at Paramount and graphic novel 10 for Dimension and Ice Cube's CubeVision.

Davis Ent. has also produced sci-fi flicks I, ROBOT, ALIEN VS. PREDATOR and ERAGON.

DiGilio created the short-lived ABC's TRAVELER in 2007 that followed two friends framed for a deadly bombing by their best friend. The first three NORTH WIND comics are in stores and available for free digital download at MySpace Comic Books (MySpace.com/comicbooks).
