SCARY MOVIE 4 debuted with the best Easter weekend opening ever $40.2M, for the period ended April 16, 2006. Its also the best opening for the Weinstein Co., which released under its Dimension banner. Meanwhile, Fox/Blue Skys 3D-animated ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN dropped to second place in its third week, picking up another $20M for a cume of $147.2M. Overseas, THE MELTDOWN has garnered another $250M.

Sony/Revolutions THE BENCHWARMERS followed in third with $9.9M and a cume of $35.8M. THE WILD, the 3D-animated feature from C.0.R.E., distributed by Disneys Buena Vista, debuted in the fourth spot with $9.6M. New Lines TAKE THE LEAD settled for fifth with $6.7M and cume of $22.6M. Seventh place went to MGMs LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN, which scored $4.7M and $14.2M. Fox Searchlights THANK YOU FOR SMOKING took the eighth spot with $4.4M and $11.5M. Paramounts FAILURE TO LAUNCH slid to ninth with $2.6M for a cume of $83.1M. Warner Bros.
