Despite comments from Eric Kripke, who was developing SANDMAN for TV, to the contrary, Geoff Johns, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer, tweeted that the potential series was still actively in development. Via ComingSoon.net, Johns tweeted that he is working with creator Neil Gaiman on bringing the property to TV. Johns comments infer that Kripke, the SUPERNATURAL creator and SANDMAN fan, is no longer involved in the project as it moves forward.

The Vertigo comic ran for 75 issues and followed the deity Dream and his siblings the Endless, which included Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction and Destiny.
