Samet to Head Original Programming & Series Development for MTV

Jessica Samet has been promoted from vp to the newly-created position of svp of original programming and series development for MTV in Los Angeles, responsible for developing and overseeing original long-form original programming, working closely with scheduling, marketing, communications, and advertising teams at the network.

Since joining MTV Networks in 1999, Samet has worked on a number of highly successful programs, including VIVA LA BAM, JACKASS, the series; THE ASSISTANT and WILDBOYZ.

Samet also was co-exec producer on the MTV Films release, JACKASS THE MOVIE, which earned nearly $80 million dollars both in the U.S. and abroad.

Samet was director of production for Walt Disney/Touchstone Pictures. Prior to Touchstone Pictures, she was a motion picture literary agent at United Talent Agency, where she represented both writers and directors in the world of feature films.
