Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) – a high-powered 'one-stop agency' focused on ensuring the success of MSC Malaysia and the companies operating in it – has today announced the sale of Saladin, a 13x26’ kids’ action adventure series, to leading Turkish broadcaster ATV.

Inspired by the 12th Century statesman, Saladin is the ultimate hero – courageous in the face of danger, never willing to admit defeat and funny when he needs to be and warrior. The series looks at a fictional period in Saladin’s life as a young adventurer, an experience of which shaped the young leader into what he would become. Eighteen years old and ready to take on the world, Saladin leaves his home city of Damascus with his lifelong friend Tarik in search of adventure - this is where the series begins.

The series which is aimed at 10-15 year olds has everything you could want - heroes, villains, vendettas, drama, comedy, exotic locales, daring rescues and a dash of romance.

Kamil Othman, Vice President for the Creative Multimedia Department, MDeC said: “Malaysia is proud to be partnering with Al Jazeera Children's Channel in producing high quality content for worldwide markets. There is a huge demand internationally for children's action series as this sale demonstrates, and we look forward to developing further relationships in this exciting area.”
