Sacha Baron Cohen is in talks to join the impressive cast of Quentin Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED, reports Variety.

Sacha Baron Cohen is in talks to join the impressive cast of Quentin Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED, reports Variety. The story follows freed slave Django (Jamie Foxx) as he trains with German bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) in order to save his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from sadistic plantation owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Cohen will play Scotty, a gambler who buys Broomhilda.

The cast also includes Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Johnson, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouette and Gerald McRaney. Stacey Sher, Pilar Savone and Reginald Hudlin are the producers alongside exec producers Harvey Weinstein, Michael Shamberg and Jim Skotchdopole.

The Weinstein Company will handle the U.S. release, while Sony Pictures holds the international rights. The film will break into theaters on Dec. 25, 2012.
