The Rushes Soho Short Film Festival, to be held in London July 26-August 1, 2003, is accepting submissions for the following categories: The Short Film Award, The Newcomer Award, The Title Sequences & Idents Award, The Animated Short Award and The Music Video Award. The film should be no longer than 12 minutes in duration and produced in the last 12 months, up until May 6, 2003. The six-day festival screens the shortlisted films for free throughout Soho's cafes, bars and cinemas, culminating with the awards ceremony on July 31, 2003. A Rushes post-production employee who wished to encourage and honor up-and-coming filmmakers started the festival in 1998. Now entering its fifth year, this non-profit event has established a unique reputation for premiering new talent and showcasing short films.
