R!OT Manhattan Ups McCullough to Visual Effects Supervisor

R!OT Manhattan has promoted Tom McCullough to visual effects supervisor. In his new role, McCullough will design, budget and oversee visual effects work for commercials, episodic television and broadcast graphics. He will also provide on-set visual effects supervision. McCullough will retain his post as senior inferno artist and will remain involved in hands-on visual effects production. A multi-talented artist, McCullough is also skilled in 3D animation. He is acting as R!OT Manhattan's visual effects supervisor for the HBO series SEX AND THE CITY and THE WIRE.

"Tom is the ideal person to work with our clients in designing and executing complex visual effects work," said R!OT Manhattan managing director Connie Griffin. "He is skilled in all aspects of visual effects and animation. He is an excellent problem solver and a strong collaborator who comes up with creative solutions for every project he undertakes."

McCullough has been involved in effects work for a wide variety of media. In addition to extensive work for SEX AND THE CITY and THE WIRE, he has worked on commercials for Gillette (BBDO, New York), Volvo (Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York) and FreshLook (Ericsson/Fina, New York). His most recent commercial credit is an as yet unreleased campaign for Smirnoff Ice out of J. Walter Thompson, New York. He has also contributed to broadcast design projects for Nickelodeon, SCI FI Channel and Cinemax.

A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, McCullough began his career with Post Edge, Miami (now Manhattan Transfer Miami) as a computer animator. He later shifted his focus to 2D visual effects production and became the facility's senior inferno artist.

R!OT Manhattan is located at 545 Fifth Avenue, New York, New York 10017.
