Rogue Pictures Acquires Distribution Rights To Driver

Rogue Pictures has acquired distribution rights to Constantin Film and Impact Pictures' production of the movie version of the best-selling videogame DRIVER. Academy Award winner Roger Avary is scripting, and will direct.

Producers on the project are Impact's Jeremy Bolt and Paul W.S. Anderson and Constantin's Bernd Eichinger and Robert Kulzer. Rogue will hold worldwide distribution rights to the title, excluding Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland, which will be handled by Constantin Film. Foreign sales will be handled by Focus Features Intl.

As in the Atari game, the film's protagonist will be the best getaway driver in the business.

Rogue Pictures president of production Andrew Rona said, "These filmmakers know what it takes to make a balls-to-the-wall movie out of a popular game; DRIVER will be an action-packed thrill ride."

Constantin Film has been the most successful producer and independent distributor of feature films in Germany for more than 25 years now. The company, which has been listed on the stock market since 1999, is also involved in the domestic and international production of theatrical films as well as television production, both longform and series. The classic production and distribution operations have been successfully supplemented since 2003 by license trading, in-house exploitation of video and DVD rights, and television entertainment production, which have made Constantin Film one of the leading media houses in Europe.

Impact Pictures was founded in 1992 by producer Jeremy Bolt and writer/director/producer Paul W.S. Anderson. Impact Pictures is a top production company specializing in videogame adaptations and original content in the action, sci-fi, thriller and horror genres

Rogue Pictures (www.roguepictures.com) is devoted to producing and distributing suspense, action, thriller, comedy and urban entertainment with mainstream appeal and franchise potential.
