Roger Ebert's Overlooked Film Festival is dedicated to films that have been overlooked by audiences, critics and/or distributors. This second addition will feature anime classic GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES and the special effects sci-fi flick DARK CITY. GRAVE, directed by Isao Takahata and produced by Studio Ghibli, follows the trials of a brother and sister, who are orphaned during World War II. DARK CITY, directed by Alex Proyas, is a sci-fi tale of telekenetic aliens who imprison mankind in a world without a sun. GRAVE OF FIREFLIES screens on Thursday at 7 pm and DARK CITY screens on Saturday at 10 pm. Presentations from filmmakers and cast will proceed and follow the various showings. Panel discussions on digital film, overlooked films and women in films will be held at the University of Illinois.
