Rob Feldman New SPTI Exec Director, Production

In response to its growing international production business, Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has appointed Rob Feldman as exec director, production. In his new position, Feldman will initiate production of SPTI's local language versions of scripted formats in countries across Central and Eastern Europe as well as Russia and the C.I.S. Additionally, he will be responsible for establishing local production relationships with producers and broadcasters and overseeing SPTI's local language productions from pre-production through post-production. Feldman will also be involved in developing new formats and will be responsible for scouting and identifying scripted formats for potential acquisition.

Rob has been an extremely successful consultant for us on some of our most successful local language productions, said Anthony Root, SPTI's svp, European production, to whom Feldman will report. We are very excited to have him join our team as we continue to expand our production efforts throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to his appointment, Feldman has been an SPTI consultant since 2003 on productions throughout Latin America and Europe, including POOR ANASTASIA, SPTI's highly rated novella for the CTC network in Moscow. He also assisted in the casting and pre-production for SPTI's local language version of THE NANNY IN RUSSIA and worked with other SPTI consultants in Russia, Poland, Turkey, Chile, Ecuador, Miami and Los Angeles.

From 1998 to 2004, Feldman was president of Television News Group Inc., an independent production company specializing in documentary, reality, news and light entertainment programming for various U.S. networks. He consulted for SPTI on international formats, distribution and television programming and production. A recipient of five Emmy Awards, Feldman was an exec producer at COURT TV in 1997-98, managing editor of A CURRENT AFFAIR in 1994-95, and previously held exec producer positions at WSVN-TV in Miami and WWOR-TV in New York City. He was also a producer at WCAU-TV and KYW-TV in Philadelphia.
