Rising Sun Seeks New CEO

Rising Sun Pictures has commenced the search for its next CEO as it enters a new growth phase. Current CEO Didier Elzinga will be stepping back after five years at the helm, and 13 years in total with the company, to spend more time on other projects.

Didier said, "After being entrusted with the direction of this innovative company for five years, I am excited and confident in the future, knowing our current leadership team is strong and ready to grow to take RSP forward."

"RSP has taught me that an individual can make a difference, that passion comes before everything else, and that it doesn't matter where in the world you are; you can still be world class. These things are always going to be at the core of what makes this company great."

RSP's Chairman Tony Clark said, "We are fortunate to have had Didier's energy and commitment to the company throughout his time here -- the benefits of his many contributions will remain with us."

"RSP has evolved substantially over its 15 years and now works regularly on a range of top-end Hollywood and Australian film projects such as the HARRY POTTER series, SUPERMAN RETURNS, AUSTRALIA and its current work on X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE and TERMINATOR SALVATION. With the excellent Australian PDV rebate and a falling Australian Dollar, RSP is poised for busy times ahead."

An international search for the new CEO will be conducted over the coming 5 months, during which Didier will remain in the role and will then continue his involvement as a non-executive board member and shareholder.

RSP is the only independent Australian visual effects company dedicated solely to feature film VFX. In the past 18 months, the company has delivered over 1,000 vfx shots on 13 feature films. RSP is the trusted partner of choice for international studios and local film makers, consistently delivering inspiring effects and animation solutions for films being shot and completed both in Australia and around the globe.
