Ring 3 in the Works

The producing duo of Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are developing a third, scaled-down RING movie, according to SCI FI Wire. The husband-and-wife producing team is planning a different approach and may not need the same mother and son cast of Naomi Watts and David Dorfman, who were in the first two horror movies.

Parkes added, "It's easy to scale down RING 3 as a small picture that's not incredibly expensive. By its very nature it can be a small movie and doesn't need the same cast."

Paramount Pictures has shown interest in another chapter of the children's fantasy books that spawned LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS last year. Parkes and MacDonald said this endeavor is more complicated and expensive due to the highly stylized, fantasy world that needs to be created.

The couple is also working on MASTER OF SPACE AND TIME, about a scientist who discovers a way to control reality, to be directed Michel Gondry (ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND).
