A trailer has surfaced for a new documentary filmed on location at Rhythm & Hues Studios during the weeks following the company’s devastating bankruptcy.

From filmmakers Scott Leberecht and Christina Lee Storm, Life After Pi is a documentary short about Rhythm & Hues Studios, the Los Angeles-based visual effects company that won an Academy Award for its groundbreaking work on Life of Pi just two weeks after declaring bankruptcy. The film explores rapidly changing forces impacting the global VFX community, and the film Industry as a whole.

According to the film’s website, the short is only the first chapter of an upcoming feature-length documentary, Hollywood Ending, which delves into the larger, complex challenges facing the U.S. film industry. Rhythm & Hues: Life After Pi will be released online on February 25, 2014.
