Rhinoceros Visual Effects & Design has added CG director/project leader David Barosin to its roster. He was a major factor in creating character animations for ad campaigns such as J. Walter Thompson's Orkin Man, "Primetheus" the Primeco alien for The Richards Group, the Statue of Liberty for Oldsmobile and Leo Burnett, and the "Virtual Lady" for Intel. "I really like the team that's here at Rhinoceros," Barosin said. "These are great people, many of whom I've worked with before. As a result, the atmosphere here is extremely collaborative - everyone participates and gives everything they've got to each project. It's an ideal way to work. I love to get characters started. It's really fun to find their personality, and push my own envelope of animation and expression skills at the same time. But part of building characters is really about designing mechanisms to control them, so I'm dealing with engineering, problem solving, and mathematics as well. That's what makes animation an art and a science." Rhinoceros partner/executive producer Rick Wagoheim said, "Dave is one of the most gifted CG artists in the community. He's like having three artists wrapped into one person. He's creatively insightful always developing technical solutions that allow the creative to shine."
