Revenge of the Sith Takes Hollywood Film Festival Movie of the Year Honors

STAR WARS: EPISODE III REVENGE OF THE SITH is the winner of the 9th Annual Hollywood Film Festivals "Hollywood Movie of the Year Award." Director George Lucas will be presented with the award at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Oct. 24.

"Mr. Lucas is a creative genius, a visionary at its best," said festival founder/exec director Carolos de Abreu.

REVENGE OF THE SITH beat out BATMAN BEGINS and WAR OF THE WORLDS in online voting at the Yahoo Movies (movies.yahoo.com) and ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT (ETonline.com) websites. Other contenders included CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, SIN CITY and CRASH.

The 2005 Annual Hollywood Film Festival will take place from Oct. 18-24. The festival's screenings take place at ArcLight Theatres in Hollywood.

The Hollywood Film Festival will also honor Oscar-winning director Hayao Miyazaki with the "Hollywood Animation Award" and ILMs Oscar-winning senior visual effects supervisor Dennis Muren with the "Hollywood Visual Effects of the Year Award."
