Escape Studios, Pixar's European distributor and training partner for RenderMan, is offering its RenderMan Fundamentals course in conjunction with Pixar's official RenderMan courseware.
RenderMan Fundamentals is a tutor led classroom course, being held at Escape Studios in London on June 23, 2008. The course is full-time, running for one week and is the ideal introduction for all those who want to open the door to the film industry's premier rendering tool. With only 12 places available, this is an opportunity to join an exclusive group of elite CG movie renderers using RenderMan today. We will also be scheduling RenderMan Fundamentals courses in the United States, Australia and Asia with venues and dates to be confirmed.
The online RenderMan courseware is Pixar's official learning tool for the software, and provides content for both academic tutors and existing professional artists alike. It contains the fundamentals, introductory and advanced How To's and production examples from leading visual effects facilities worldwide. The courseware has a Wiki-based structure to facilitate a flexible and non-linear learning approach, making it the one authoritative source of RenderMan knowledge.
To complement both of these, we will be offering the opportunity for anyone teaching RenderMan to gain official Pixar Tutor Certification, by way of an online test. Users will be invited to demonstrate their practical working knowledge of RenderMan to the requisite level, in order to receive the animation giant's official stamp.
