Reel FX Signs Jason Cunnigham

Reel FX has signed Senior VFX Artist Jason Cunningham, who comes to Reel FX from Suspect Inc., Spontaneous and Pure.

Dallas, TX -- Reel FX has signed Senior VFX Artist Jason Cunningham, who comes to Reel FX from Suspect Inc., Spontaneous and Pure.  Over the years, Cunningham has lent his considerable VFX acumen to such brands as Mercedes-Benz, AT&T, Estée Lauder and L’Oréal, as well as music videos for the likes of Interpol (“Barricade”) and Mos Def (“Ghetto Rock”), and feature films for Warner Bros. and others.

Reel FX Executive Producer Gary Banks notes, “Jason has quickly fit in with the team although he’s barely had time to blink since the day he set foot in the studio.  It’s a pleasure to work with a guy who can get the work done beautifully, quickly and also finds the time to work the room with the clients.

Adds Cunningham, “I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of such a dynamic studio.  I’ve admired Reel FX’s work in spots and features for years.”

Cunningham’s own work is meticulously crafted and tends to include either a “front-and-center,” featured creative element or subtle, undetectable VFX—which he notes are equally, if not more difficult to execute.  Says Cunningham of his approach, “I try to make pretty pictures and deliver them on time.  In spots, shoring up the brand message with inventive visuals is always my primary goal.”

Cunningham was born in Washington DC, but grew up in Atlanta, GA.  He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Telecommunications and Journalism, and then moved to NYC to take a job in the machine room at Spontaneous Combustion (now Spontaneous).  He quickly worked his way up to VFX assistant under his mentors David Elkins and Tony Robins before moving to Pure followed by Suspect Inc. as Head Flame and Senior VFX Artist.  Cunningham has also freelanced at such studios as Click 3X and Smoke & Mirrors.
