Rebel Rebel Rebrand For Blue Zoo

Press Release from Rebel Rebel / Blue Zoo

Award-winning animation studio Blue-Zoo Productions today announces a strategic re-brand for its advertising work under the name Rebel Rebel. Comprising of Blue-Zoo's team of in-house creatives and leading 3D talent, Rebel Rebel offers bespoke and high-quality character animation to the advertising world. Commercial representation is continued by Dept.A at HSI London.

The re-marketing initiative is aimed at targeting a wider and older demographic with their animated ad work, with Blue-Zoo continuing to retain its broadcast commissions from clients such as Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Rebel Rebel is headed up by directors Adam Shaw and Chris Rais and Oli Hyatt.

Adam Shaw, co-founder, Rebel Rebel, says: "In the current market we are seeing a greater desire among agencies and brands for high quality character animation for their commercials; this move will see us take our mix of creative flair, award-winning skill, and humour to an older audience. Our work showcases the versatility and strength that animation offers - from television-based campaigns to virals."

The animators who make up the team at Rebel Rebel bring an impressive range of experience with them, having produced animated projects for commercials, broadcast programming, music videos and film since 2000. Recent Blue-Zoo commercial credits have included their Clarks' YoToY campaign, animation for the British Heart Foundation's YOOBOT television campaign, and a James Bond-spoof viral for Greenpeace called COALFINGER.

Collectively, Blue-Zoo has garnered a wealth of awards in the past including a BAFTA win in 2007 as part of the team behind THE WRONG TRAINERS (CBeebies), two BAFTA nominations, two British Animation Awards, numerous Promax awards and the International Filminute Award last year for an episode of the anarchic series STITCH-UP SHOWDOWN (Nickelodeon).
