Rainmaker Chooses cineSpace to Cover Color Calibration

Rainmaker Ent. Inc. has chosen Rising Sun Research's cineSpace for color calibration at its Vancouver facilities. The cineSpace color management suite will be used across workstations and digital screening rooms throughout Rainmaker Visual Effects and Rainmaker Animation for monitor matching and digital film previews.

cineSpace delivers precise calibration across a wide range of systems and applications, providing accurate matching to broadcast standards and print film output. Includes plug-ins for Shake, Fusion, Nuke and Film Master, and 3D LUT support for products from Iridas, Assimilate, Autodesk, Apple and many others.

"Rainmaker Ent. faces many challenges with regards to color management," stated Brian Chacon, Head of Production Technology. "As a company, we offer both a visual effects division and an animation division, each with their own specific needs pertaining to color."

"Within our visual effects division, we must deal with the ongoing process of Linear to Log conversion," Chacon noted. "In our animation division, the struggle is maintaining consistency from desktop CRT to professional broadcast monitors via PAL and/or NTSC. Soon, Rainmaker Animation will begin production on ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH, an animated theatrical feature from the Weinstein Co. Taking all of these requirements into consideration at our Vancouver facilities, we were confident in choosing cineSpace."

cineSpace 2.5 is available immediately from Rising Sun Research and authorised resellers worldwide, and runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and IRIX platforms. For more information visit http://cinespace.risingsunresearch.com.
