Producer Berg Now SVP at Warners

Producer Jon Berg has been named SVP, Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.

In his new post, Berg will join the studio's senior motion picture production ranks and oversee a number of films each year through each stage of development and production, working closely with writers, producers, directors and third-party production entities that Warner Bros. Pictures partners with on various releases.

Prior to joining Warner Bros. Pictures, Berg served as a principal of Guy Walks into a Bar, a production company he founded in 2003 with screenwriter Todd Komarnicki. The company currently has a two-year television production deal with 20th Century Fox Television and its feature film credits include ELF and the upcoming STARSHIP DAVE, starring Eddie Murphy and scheduled for a spring 2008 release.

Before Guy Walks into a Bar, Berg had a first-look management/production deal at Universal Pictures. Under that deal, he served as an exec producer on OUT OF TIME, starring Denzel Washington. Prior to that, Berg served as director of development at Universal Pictures, where he worked on such properties as the BOURNE franchise, the AMERICAN PIE films, JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS, BIG FAT LIAR and CURIOUS GEORGE, among others.

Berg, who has also served as a creative executive at The Canton Co., started his career in the mailroom at Brillstein-Grey Ent. in 1995.
